A1 Service Group is built on history, vision and hard work. We thrive on providing great customer service and aim to conquer every project on time, in a safe environment. We are diverse; serving many sectors ranging from waste, materials and specialty contracting.
Our History
Our history started in 1979, Gene Petty saw a need providing road contractors with a local material called Sandrock. He formed A-1 Sandrock Inc. and began supplying materials to local contractors, Gene decided to move into the waste business converting his property into a C&D landfill. He built a healthy waste company that was sold off in 2002.
1979
In 2006, Ronnie Petty III reopened A-1 Sandrock Inc. at a new location with a C&D landfill. Their services provided have grew over the years to many sectors including waste services & recycling, mobile crushing, mobile grinding and material sales
2006
In 2011, Absolute Recycling Contractors LLC was formed as a sister company to provide residential and commercial waste hauling to their portfolio of services. In 2020, A-1 Sandrock Inc. closed on the acquisition of Overdale Rd. Transfer Station. This acquisition added a MSW & C&D transfer station as well as concrete recycling in Winston Salem, NC

As of 2023, we operate all 3 companies under a new name: A1 Service Group.
